Model overview based on user reviews
The WD Gold Enterprise Class hard drives are known for their quiet operation and fast performance, making them suitable for continuous 24/7 use. Users appreciate the reliability and long-term warranty offered, although some have experienced early failures, necessitating warranty returns. The drives are generally cool and moderately noisy, with some models being quieter than expected. While they are not recommended for gaming due to slower response times after idle periods, they excel in environments requiring large storage capacities and consistent performance. Despite their higher price, especially after market fluctuations, they are valued for their durability and efficiency in enterprise settings.

Solid disc, excellent flight
24 July 2021
I took the 12 TB version for my home TrueNAS server as file storage for everything: archives, torrents, downloads, photos, etc. I thought that it would make a lot of noise, but in the end I was pleasantly surprised: there is practically no noise, or rather, of course it is, but much more modest than I expected. The disk is currently 20% full. During active copying, downloading and distributing torrents, the disk barely audibly clicks its heads. The server with the disk is located in the bedroom on the floor, under the TV, from a distance of 2 meters you already have to listen to hear something. I don’t know what’s the matter, of course everyone has different sensitivity, but for those who write that it is noisy, I would suggest first trying to disable file indexing (if you are using Windows).
-Moderately noisy
-Doesn't heat up
-Price after the launch of the Chia cryptocurrency (the price of which has fallen a long time ago, hey retailers!)

great model, love it

I took the WD181KRYZ into my PC, I had 10 disks (now 8), I expected that they would be as fast and noisy as hgst ultrastart, which crack loudly, but surprisingly the disk turned out to be very quiet, you can’t hear it, the speed is expected, and he's cold.
Quiet, cool, fast. No tiled entry. 5 year warranty

In the first month you will definitely see whether there is a defect or not, technical support is good.

Good, but expensive.
Doesn't get hot, makes almost no noise. Fast.
Half a month of hassle-free flight at home and... a crackling sound when turning off, like a car skidding for 2 seconds. The tech support said "return it", like it's defective. I'll return it and see.
