Having a compact size, the recorder is not conspicuous, does not interfere with the view and does not stand out in the interior of the car. The heart of the device is the Sony Starvis IMX335 matrix, supported by a Novatek NTK96580 image processor. This combination provides video recording at a maximum frame resolution of 2560x1440 pixels (Quad HD).

To avoid overexposure of the picture and the appearance of license plates of oncoming cars in the headlights, VIOFO A119 Mini 2 automatically uses the HDR function. On the side of the body facing the vehicle interior, there is a one-and-a-half-inch recorder screen. Remote access to model settings and captured videos is available from paired mobile devices - they are connected via a wireless Wi-Fi network.

The device also has a built-in GPS, which records the speed of movement and tracks the coordinates of the car’s location in real time. In addition, the model can conduct security filming in parking mode and record time-lapses. The correct finalization of video shooting when the ignition in the car is turned off is ensured by a supercapacitor in the role of the recorder's own power source.
