Twin brother of the mid-range Samsung Galaxy A30 "at maximum speed." A serious application for the success of the model was the Super AMOLED screen of 6.4-inch diagonal in the corporate style of Infinity-U (with a “droplet” for a 25 MP selfie camera lens). A fingerprint sensor is integrated directly under the surface of the screen, flashing acid green when a fingerprint is recognized. The Samsung Galaxy A50 128GB is powered by the performant "octa-core" Exynos 9610, grown on the South Korean tech giant's own "plantations". Together with a powerful chip, 6 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 128 GB are kindly provided to the user. It is possible to “pump” the capacity of the latter using a microSD card by refusing a second SIM card. The main camera in the smartphone's arsenal looks at the...surrounding reality with three "eyes": a 25 MP photographic sensor with f / 1.7 aperture optics, an 8 MP wide-angle sensor and a sensor for building a depth map. The camera of the device is friends with artificial intelligence, which analyzes the scene and selects the optimal shooting mode for it. The image of the smartphone is completed by an NFC chip and a capacious 4000 mAh rechargeable battery with support for fast “refueling tanks” technology.

Potential leader in the middle segment

Under pressure from Chinese smartphone makers, Samsung gradually got rid of the unnecessary touch of elitism, revised its marketing goals and successfully returned to the mid-level smartphone market. Its A series became a hit thanks to the unspoken formula “filling and price like Xiaomi, Samsung quality.”

Truly edge-to-edge screen

The new Galaxy A50 features a huge 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a flagship display-to-body ratio of 85% and FullHD+ resolution. The screen turned out to be excellent even by the standards of more expensive smartphones, and for the price of $350 it’s a fairy tale. Plus, the AMOLED matrix consumes less energy, so with a 4000 mAh battery, the Galaxy A50 lasts the same day and a half as smartphones with a larger battery but an IPS screen. In terms of design, it’s difficult to say anything, the smartphone looks like most of the heroes of today - a tiny drop-cut cutout for the front camera, tiny frames and a glossy plastic glass-like cover with an iridescent gradient color.

Exynos 9610 and 6 GB RAM

As a motor, the smartphone uses a fairly powerful Exynos 9610 chip and 6 GB of RAM. The computing capabilities of the device are at a decent level, since the Exynos 9610 is essentially a stripped-down version of the flagship Exynos 9810 chipset, which was recently found in devices such as the Galaxy S9 and Note 9. Well, 128 GB of built-in storage will allow you to do without a memory card for a long time , even if you take photographs at maximum resolution and shoot a lot of videos. By the way, there is a triple camera here, but I can’t say that it takes some fantastic pictures. Rather, he shoots exactly at his own expense - during the day you get very good shots with the correct depth and blur; in poor lighting, the quality traditionally drops.

Fingerprint scanner built into the screen

The A50 is somewhere in the middle between inexpensive smartphones and flagship models, so the equipment here is fully consistent with its level: a modern USB C port, a separate headphone output, a capacious 4000 mAh battery with fast charging, an NFC module and Wi-Fi with the latest version of Bluetooth . The smartphone's fingerprint scanner is built into the screen according to fashion, although its speed leaves much to be desired. If a regular scanner works in a split second, then the process sometimes freezes for a couple of seconds, or the print does not work at all and you have to scan again. At the same time, it’s worth criticizing the media speaker. It has average quality and not the best volume reserve; budget phones for $200 often have better speakers.
