The most affordable monitor in the class 144Hz + 2K
Samsung continues to rely on curved monitors, offering customers more and more different models with a standard, by modern standards, diagonal and Full HD resolution. The Samsung C27JG50 is an extremely interesting solution that for $350 offers not only a curved screen with excellent picture quality, but also an increased resolution of 2K, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a fast matrix (response rate of 4 ms). In fact, this is the most affordable 27-inch monitor that boasts such a refresh rate at such a high resolution. More recently, such an option would have cost one and a half to two times more expensive.
Juicy picture at the level of IPS monitors
The monitor uses a 27-inch VA matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The display features a modest but sufficient colour gamut (72% NTSC), standard brightness settings (300 cd/m2) and an atypically high statistical contrast ratio (3000:1) for most usage scenarios. According to personal feelings, the picture of the Samsung C27JG50 is unusually colorful and bright, almost at the level of gaming IPS monitors. Especially if you fiddle a little with the settings first, the base colour profiles aren't the best here.
Nothing extra
Additional trump cards in the model's sleeve are Eye Saver Mode and Flicker-Free LED flicker-free technology. But frame synchronization technologies like AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-Sync, which give the picture additional smoothness, unfortunately were not delivered. And this is strange, because their support would not really affect the cost of the monitor. But there are thin side frames and several gaming features like Black Equalizer, which highlights the black areas of the screen to more accurately identify opponents hiding in the dark.
Finally, be sure to pay attention to the stand, on the one hand, it only allows you to adjust the monitor by the angle of inclination, on the other hand, it is bulky and flimsy. If the table suddenly starts to wobble, then the monitor will wobble. Therefore, many users buy this model with the expectation of hanging it on the wall, since it has VESA wall mounts.
