Excellent and very fast flash drive. In my experience (and according to tests in CrystalDiskMark), it performs faster than many HDDs. It can even compete with some SSDs in read speed (a pleasant bonus). + High read/write speed for both large and small files + Compact, fits in any pocket + Durable. Can remove plaster from walls :) + USB 3.1 + Easy to insert/remove from the computer + Can be hung on a string -It gets decently warm during operation (~50-60°C), you definitely can't get burned, but you can warm your hands nicely. Fortunately, it cools down quickly. -It is unlikely to work on old devices (if capacity >32 GB) |
I ordered a 128 GB flash drive. The write and read speeds are very high (averaging 75 MB/sec for writing and 250 MB/sec for reading). A 10 GB folder was copied to the flash drive in about 2 minutes. I was really surprised by the size of the flash drive; in my opinion, it’s very small and compact. It does get a bit warm when writing large files. The only issue I had was with playing a 4K movie on the TV: for the TV to "see" the flash drive, it needs to be formatted on the TV. When formatted on the TV, the file system changes from exFAT to FAT32. The problem is that the maximum file size in this system is 4 GB, and the 4K movie I have is 48 GB. I looked for a solution online but didn't find one, so I had to figure it out myself. Without much deliberation, I decided to change the file system to NTFS (which can be done by formatting the flash drive on a PC), and large files are now recorded onto the flash drive without any problems, and the TV recognizes it perfectly. Compact, fast, great design, large memory capacity. I didn't like that the TV doesn't recognize a flash drive with the exFAT file system, but the issue is still solvable, and I don't see any more drawbacks. |
I am writing for those who are interested in the speed of writing to this flash drive ... On the official website of Samsung (technical support), they said that the write speed when connected to a USB 3.0 port reaches 150 Mbs ... Full production cycle of the final product at our own facilities! Not the highest write-read speed! use Samsung BAR Plus 256Gb less than month |

Unique product
Many manufacturers of flash drives follow the lead of the mass market, increasing the volume and speed, but not really caring about data security and the longevity of the device. The Samsung BAR Plus sets itself apart by combining high read/write speeds, generous 256 GB of storage space, and enhanced security measures.
Maximum protection
The drive is dressed in a protective metal case that is not afraid of shock, can withstand immersion under water (to a depth of up to 1 m for 72 hours) and boasts resistance to X-rays, temperature extremes and degaussing. At the same time, Samsung BAR Plus is compact and light even by the standards of compact flash drives — its dimensions are 40x16x12 mm and weighs only 12 grams.
Speed up to 300MB/s
The data read speed of the device is 300 Mbps. The manufacturer claims that you can copy a 3 GB file from the drive in just 10 seconds. Writing files to a flash drive is traditionally slower. In addition to USB 3.1, the Samsung BAR Plus is backward compatible with the older USB 2.0.
The only disadvantage of this brainchild of Samsung is manifested during a long load: copying a large database, you may find that the metal case of the flash drive has noticeably warmed up. However, this does not appear so often, and such a disadvantage can be tolerated for the sake of increased protection.
