. Relatively light and compact representative of fisheye class optics. Designed for K-mount Pentax systems with an APS-C sensor. A focal length of 10-17 mm provides viewing angles of 180° - 100°. There is no autofocus motor of its own, there is a slot for a “screwdriver” type drive.

"Designed exclusively for use with digital SLR cameras, the smc PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mm F3.5-4.5ED (IF) has the curvature of the field of view characteristic of "fish-eye" lenses, depicting the most common objects, creating unique effects and giving special expressiveness to a photograph.

"Fish-eye" features in a zoom lens
Mounted on any of the PENTAX *ist D series digital SLR cameras, this lens produces fish-eye images with a 180-degree field of view at a focal length of 10mm. In addition, the capabilities of an ultra-wide-angle lens allow the photographer to create stunning visual effects by varying the field of view through focal length changes.
The ultra-wide-angle capability of this lens also allows to achieve images with increased depth of field, creative distortion of subjects, and sharp focus for far and near shots across the field.
Special for digital SLR cameras
The lens coverage area closely matches the sensor size (23.5mm x 15.7mm) of *ist D-series digital SLR cameras. This solution results in a lower cost, more compact size and weight of the lens (compared to 35mm-format lenses with similar characteristics).
High quality optics
The new lens, which incorporates ED-elements with extra-low dispersion, effectively compensates for chromatic aberration across the entire image field. A new optical design and a multi-coated lens reduce flare and flare for clear, high-quality images.
Shooting Super Macro
An ingenious internal focus system allows focus as close as approx. 14 cm, making it possible to fill the entire frame with surprisingly small subjects.
New protective lens coating
A new SP (Super Protective) coating of a special fluoride-based compound is applied to the front surface of the smc PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mm F3.5-4.5ED (IF) lens using a unique sputtering process. Thanks to this, the lens has an excellent water and grease repellent layer, which will make it easier to clean the lens glass if you accidentally stain it, for example, with fingerprints.
