Ibanez RG Standard Series RG421 Electric Guitar, Mahogany Oil RG421MOL

Make your mark in the music world with the RG Standard Series RG421 Electric Guitar in Mahogany Oil, a standout offering from... morethe iconic Ibanez line. Celebrating three decades of metal music, this high-performance instrument is engineered for both speed and strength, making it a favorite among both novices and seasoned guitarists. The RG421 is a precision instrument, designed to cater to your preference for either a hardtail (fixed) bridge or our industry-leading locking tremolo system. Ibanez is committed to delivering the best sound, style, and playability, regardless of price point, and this guitar is no exception. The Standard series embodies the qualities that have made the Ibanez brand renowned worldwide. Expect fast necks, floating trems, and high-octane distortion, all packaged in a design that's accessible to a wide range of players. The RG421 features a Wizard III Maple neck, known for its thin, flat, and fast design. This sturdy neck offers unlimited playability and boasts a two-octave, 24-fret fretboard for an expansive tonal range. The Jatoba fretboard, with its rich reddish-brown hue, delivers a robust mid-range and a crisp high end. The guitar also features a mono-unit output jack, constructed from solid, durable material. This single-piece design minimizes unwanted movement and loosening, ensuring long-term playing enjoyment with minimal maintenance. Jumbo frets enhance the playability of the RG421, particularly for single-note playing. The Meranti body of the guitar offers a scooped mid-range and a sweet tone, while the Quantum H-H pickups provide an accelerated bass response. This allows for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing, crushing mid-range, and precise high-end articulation. Finally, the F106 bridge enriches sustain, and allows for easy and independent string height adjustment. The RG Standard Series RG421 Electric Guitar in Mahogany Oil is a testament to Ibanez's commitment to quality, innovation, and the love of music.

And again, the eminent Japanese Ibanez. This time in the category from 1500 usd, which claims to present quite high requirements for the RG 2550Z model in all aspects.

Sound

The guitar has two humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions and one middle single coil. All sensors are passive DiMarzio IBZ, which already commands respect. From the first note, the guitar feels sonority and an abundance of highs. Beautiful relief attack. Pure sound is closer to Strat's "transparency" than to the density of superstrats. The dynamics are excellent. In terms of frequencies, the middle is a little failed, there is a lot of top and moderate lows. Overdrive is very dynamic, bright and accented. The solo sounds beautiful and melodious, but in the mix the sound is somewhat lost due to the rather weak middle. In general, the tool is more geared towards a lead than a team game.

Assembly

The predominance of the uppers is explained not only by the specifics of the pickups, but also by the sound properties of the basswood from which the RG 2550Z is made. Her complex overtones are muffled along with the upper frequencies, leaving a pronounced fundamental tone. Linden is also a soft wood, so the soundboard of our guitar is prudently protected by a pickguard.

Edge Zero tremolo bridge

The branded Zero Resistance Edge Zero 2 bridge with a tremolo machine only once again emphasizes the main purpose of the RG 2550Z - downhole solos in the style of "hard and heavy" and heavier. Zero Resistance is essentially an analogue of the legendary Floyd Rose, but unlike its prototype, Edge Zero 2 is very easy to set up and keeps the system perfectly. According to some owners, thanks to Zero, they tune their guitars less than once a month with everyday play. Impressive, though hard to believe.
