Looking for the perfect office mouse

When you first meet the HP Bluetooth Travel Mouse, you get the impression that HP engineers were trying to breed the perfect outbred office mouse in the lab. One that does not make noise, does not tyre your hands during the working day, works on any surface and, moreover, is equipped with programmable side buttons, like cybersport mice.

Side buttons

In terms of shape and size, the Travel Mouse is a classic “humpback” mouse with a slightly elongated body that fits perfectly in your hand if your palms are not too large or, on the contrary, not too miniature. The case is slightly beveled to the left side, so that the mouse fits as comfortably as possible in the right hand and maintains the natural position of the palm throughout the working day. For lefties, this option is also not suitable because a couple of additional side buttons will be out of reach under the little finger and ring finger. By the way, the buttons themselves are by default responsible for the “forward” and “backward” scrolling commands, however, using the HP Accessory Center software, the mouse owner can assign any commands he needs.

Responsive sensor

The built-in HP Bluetooth Travel Mouse sensor has a resolution of 1200 DPI, which is not very suitable for working with a 4K monitor. On the other hand, the lack of sensitivity is compensated by the excellent responsiveness of the sensor on almost any type of surface, be it wood, fabric, pile or varnished table surface. Although the mouse is not included in the “silent” cohort, the button mechanisms and scroll wheels turned out to be quite quiet and are unlikely to annoy colleagues or household members. Plus, the manipulator supports simultaneous connection to several devices via Bluetooth or radio signal. It also has excellent autonomy (up to 24 months on a pair of AA batteries).
