Since neither my laptop nor my wife's laptop has an optical drive, we had to get an external one. The price is a bit high, but it's justified by the stylish design and very high performance. The smooth surface does collect fingerprints easily, but they are not difficult to remove. Note that the USB cable included is a bit short. It's fine for a laptop, but if you need to connect it to a desktop, it might not be long enough. Reads discs confidently, even those that were recorded a long time ago. It also writes them well. A nice-looking device. It looks particularly cool if you place it vertically. However, in a vertical position, it's a bit tricky to insert discs with one hand. You can boot from a disc without any issues. It works from a single USB, no need to use additional power. Throughout the usage period, there hasn't been a single glitch. For some reason, it refuses to work on Mac. Tested on two computers. Maybe drivers need to be installed? But ideally, additional drivers shouldn't be needed for an optical drive. And where to get them? use Asus SDRW-08D2S-U month or more i recommend it should buy |
