One of the most performant gaming video cards of the AMD Radeon RX 560 family based on the Polaris 21 GPU. It belongs to the famous gaming series Asus ROG — Republic of Gamers, famous for its high stability and excellent overclocking abilities. The manufacturer is positioned as a solution for completing basic/mid-level gaming computers designed for operation with FullHD monitors. It features an improved PCB design, created using an increased quality element base, and the use of a highly efficient Asus DirectCU II proprietary cooling system. This system, based on two copper heat pipes and two dust-proof long-lasting fans, allows the Asus Radeon RX 560 ROG-STRIX-RX560-4G-GAMING graphics card to quickly dissipate heat generated, and at low GPU temperatures, the system enters a completely sile...nt passive mode. Thanks to the presence of 4 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory and hardware support for API DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5, comfortable gameplay is provided in most popular game projects of 2015-2018 at a resolution of 1920x1080 and medium-high graphics quality settings.

Republic Of Gamers

Usually, after the announcement of new graphics card lines, manufacturers immediately release several options, one of which follows the reference design, and the other is an attempt to change and improve it. Asus' version of the RX 560 is part of the popular ROG gaming lineup, and you can't do without an extra gloss.

Redesigned design and lighting system

For starters, the card boasts a redesigned and improved PCB design and higher quality base components. Next up we have a completely redesigned Asus DirectCU II cooling system that effectively dissipates excess heat under heavy load and goes into a passive silent mode at minimum load. However, this affected the size of the card, since instead of a single cooler we have a fairly large double cooler. In addition to this, there is support for Asus Aura Sync proprietary backlight synchronization.

Nitrous oxide

And, of course, not without overclocking. First, out of the box, the Asus RX 560 ROG-STRIX runs at an increased frequency of 1285 MHz. Secondly, the overclocking potential of the card has been pumped over, 1350 MHz can be squeezed out of the core without any problems. Moreover, you don’t need to mess around with the settings yourself, the card comes with the ASUS GPU Tweak II utility, which allows you to switch the graphics card’s operating modes — from calm “quiet” with low power consumption to extreme “gaming”, in which the core is accelerated to 1336 MHz. All in all, this is a variant of the RX 560 with no bottlenecks.

Naturally, all these improvements come at a price, which is why the Asus RX 560 ROG-STRIX is now selling for almost the same $180 as some of the base RX 570 models. But the performance here is almost identical.
