The younger brother of the smart speaker, HomePod, presented by Apple at the end of 2020. It belongs to the mid-price segment and is targeted at loyal fans of the Apple ecosystem. The virtual assistant Siri has learned to recognize voice commands in Russian, and its functional capabilities include personalized news, weather summaries, traffic information, and calendar event reminders.

Speech recognition clarity is ensured by four long-range microphones. While the original HomePod weighed 2.5 kg and wasn't particularly compact, the mini version weighs only 345 grams, making placement in the room easier. It is also designed for playing music and podcasts from Apple Music and radio from iHeartRadio and TuneIn. Apple HomePod mini has retained the main feature of its predecessor — omnidirectional spatial sound that spreads audio waves at 360 degrees. Emphasized sound in the low-frequency range is achieved by using a full-size driver with two passive radiators. A miniature backlit touch panel is intended for playback control. The speaker exclusively supports working with Apple devices and the ability to combine multiple devices into a stereo pair or a multi-channel audio system.

a wonderful thing for the home. I currently have 2 speakers in different rooms. and you know, the intercom is a powerful thing - it's super cool to call the child to the table through the intercom instead of shouting like a wild person). also, the speaker acts as a hub for HomeKit devices - it works flawlessly. so for usefulness, +1 point

a third-party USB cable cannot be used, for example, a shorter one. the standard one turned out to be too long for me.
