The first wired HyperX gamepad with an official Xbox license offers a couple of features typically found in significantly more expensive "pro" controllers, all at a very affordable price. Firstly, there are two trigger lock switches on the back: in the unlocked position, the triggers travel the full analog range for smooth throttle control in racing games, while in the locked position, they activate with a short press, reducing reaction time in shooters where every millisecond counts.

The second useful feature is two rear programmable buttons that can be assigned any action from the front panel directly on the controller without installing an app: press the P1 button on the body, the desired source button, then the target rear button, and the binding is complete. This allows, for instance, you to assign the stick presses to the middle fingers so you don't have to take your thumbs off the sticks during gameplay. The HyperX Clutch Gladiate gamepad is designed in an Xbox asymmetrical layout with a cross-shaped D-pad and slightly elevated shoulder block. Textured grips provide a secure hold. Feedback is provided through two vibration motors. Connection is via a detachable 3-meter USB-C cable, powered by a USB port. On the bottom edge, there's a 3.5 mm jack for a wired headset.
