Possibility to install AMS Lite unit (automatic filament change system).
Model Bambu Lab A1 Combo has AMS Lite included.

the Bambu Lab A1 3D printer is a new product for 2024 and is designed for creating high-quality models with dimensions of 256x256x256 mm. It uses a popular filament deposition technology (FDM), and as materials, you can use PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA. The direct-type extruder prints at a speed of 500 mm/s. The built-in auto-feed system is compatible with 1.75 mm diameter plastic, and the output nozzle can be quickly replaced with one of the options: 0.2 – 0.8 mm.

The nozzle heats up to 300°C, and the worktable heats the base to prevent sticking to the surface, making it easier to remove the finished model. The 3D printer is quite compact and lightweight (8.3 kg), making it easy to move around. Control is carried out via a 3.5” touchscreen panel and also through a PC after installing compatible Bambu Studio software. A wireless Wi-Fi module is used for connection, which also enables remote control with the help of an intelligent camera. The system automatically monitors the working state and corrects errors.

An optimal choice for those who are more interested in the result rather than the printing process.
30 May 2026
As someone who supports the DIY concept, buying a 3D printer was just a matter of time. Plus, my two radio-controlled buggies have long been asking for custom plastic parts to reduce the suffering carefully built into their design by the manufacturer. I've never been a fan of closed ecosystems like Apple, but for some reason, I made an exception with the printer, and I really hope I won't regret it. Overall, the printer is well-balanced and extremely user-friendly: from packaging to removing the finished product from the bed, everything is oriented towards the casual user who is far removed from the intricacies of 3D printing. Knowing practically nothing about 3D printing, I launched a complex xenomorph figure with some of the cheapest PETG instead of a test boat, and it printed quite well with default settings on the first try.
A closed ecosystem that requires minimal effort and time to achieve a high-quality result will be an advantage for most people. One notable feature is the automatic calibration, which works very well in practice. The large printing area: the table perfectly accommodates the Multiboard 10x10 panel. The table temperature up to 100 degrees allows you (if you ever really want to) to print a small part from nylon or ABS.
A closed ecosystem that excludes customization is more of a disadvantage for me. The camera quality is absolutely terrible. It's incredibly difficult to perfectly place the plate on the table the first time: the plate is positioned against two tiny, hard-to-see plastic tabs that seem ready to break with too much force. Why the manufacturer didn't create reliable guides for quick and accurate plate installation is a big mystery. The build quality seems decent, but the body plastic is so thin that it might deform from the table's heat or crack from careless handling. The table cable hits the fan housing during nozzle cleaning. Small pieces of filament from the nozzle cleaning on the silicone brush constantly fall into the slots below the table and accumulate in hard-to-reach places.

FDM Printing Technology

The printer uses common FDM technology, where modeling is done by layer-by-layer filament deposition. The materials used include PLA, PETG, TPU, and PVA filaments. The auto-feeding system supports filament with a diameter of up to 1.75 mm, and the interchangeable nozzle allows for diameters from 0.2 to 0.8 mm. The calibration process is performed automatically before each print.

Balanced Printing Features

The device is equipped with an open chamber and a heated bed, which prevents plastic from sticking and makes it easier to remove finished items. The nozzle heats up to 300 °C, enabling work with various types of materials. The Bambu Lab A1 allows the creation of objects up to 256×256×256 mm in size. If desired, the AMS Lite module can be connected for automatic filament changes and color printing.

Convenient Control

Control is managed through the proprietary Bambu Studio software, available both locally and via Wi-Fi. The printer is equipped with a built-in camera for remote monitoring of the printing process. A 3.5-inch touch panel is installed on the body, providing quick access to settings. The model is suitable for both beginner users and experienced 3D printing enthusiasts.
