The world's largest rug?
In 2016, Asus made another update to its ROG gaming line, releasing a one-of-a-kind "world's largest mat" (note: according to Asus) ROG Sheath. Its dimensions are 900x440x3 mm. Add another ten centimeters in length and you can wrap yourself in it, like in a blanket. Okay, of course, we're exaggerating, but it's still a very serious area: most of the gaming mats that came to us for testing were half or even three times smaller. Therefore, an unprepared reader may have a fair question - why does a mouse need such a runway?
Giant usable area
Everything is simple here, despite the title of a mouse pad, this is a tart desktop carpet that covers most of the table, allowing you to place a keyboard and small peripherals like speakers on it. Well, the usable area for a mouse with a head is enough even for owners of very long arms. The carpet boasts a smooth and rather pleasant to the touch fabric with a very dense and high-quality weave. After a couple of hours of humiliation of demons in Doom Eternal, associations with the popular Steelseries QCK + and Razer Goliathus did not get out of my head. They have a very similar glide pattern: extremely nimble, without the slightest effect of viscosity, but at the same time it lacks control in movement. Precise and point jerks with a sharp stop are not his forte.
Catchy design with an unusual geometric texture
The mat looks amazing: Asus ROG's geometric print in red and black style looks about 10 times more beautiful in real life than in the photos. It is impossible not to praise the stitching of the side faces, they tried as if they were sewing a suit for an English prince. We also decided to stand out with the backing, so instead of the usual colourless mesh from below, we are greeted by a slightly rough red backing, which looks good and sticks tightly to the table. In fact, the only complaint about the Asus ROG Sheath is that the coating collects dust quite quickly, so you have to clean it more often than the same Razer Goliathus.
