Gel face masks
— masks similar in their features to hydrogel masks (see the relevant paragraph) — in particular, their main effect is also to moisturize the skin. At the same time, some of these compositions differ from hydrogel masks, in fact, only in name, but there are many exceptions. So, hydrogel masks are usually made in the form of a film for the contours of the face, and gel masks can be produced in the form of the actual gel in tubes, applied manually to the desired areas of the skin in the desired quantities. Hydrogel masks, usually, are supposed to be removed or washed off, and among the gel ones there are compositions for which this is not necessary: the gel is effectively absorbed into the skin and leaves no residue.
As for functions, masks of this type, in addition to moisturizing, can also have a soothing, regenerating, anti-inflammatory, nourishing effect, as well as provide cooling or heating of the skin.
