Stainless steel plumbing hoses
— classic wrapping material, very widely used in modern hoses; in products for the shower (see "Type") the steel winding has the form of a corrugated spiral, in other varieties it looks like a "fabric" of metal fibers. And among the hoses for mixers, there are also completely steel models — the so-called bellows, in the form of a corrugation without an internal rubber tube.
Anyway, the popularity of "stainless steel" is due to a combination of low cost and a number of advantages: this material is durable, reliable and well resists corrosion (hence the name). Shower hoses with steel wrapping can last up to 10 years or more; however, this requires careful handling, but it usually does not cause difficulties. And in other types of hoses, the service life is often limited only by the time between overhauls of plumbing; and even in the event of "accidents" the inner tube is more likely to fail than the braid.
