pH characterizes how acidic or alkaline the pool water is. The optimal pH level is considered to be in the range of 7.2 – 7.6; at higher values, water causes skin irritation and the effectiveness of disinfectants decreases, at lower values, increased destruction of pool parts, especially metal ones, begins. To bring the pH level back to normal, special products are available. They can be designed to both increase and decrease this indicator, so when choosing, be sure to pay attention to specialization.
