Pool chlorine
Chlorine
— a chemical preparation containing a high dose of active chlorine. It is used for disinfection, algae control and cleaning of the pool from pollution of organic origin. Active chlorine in the composition of such products effectively destroys "extra flora and fauna", and also oxidizes and neutralizes organic impurities that cause cloudiness and unpleasant odours in water. There are two types of such funds: fast (shock-chlorine) and slow. The former are used, in particular, when the water is heavily polluted or there is no time for a long cleaning: they quickly dissolve, providing a “shock dose” of chlorine. The second variety dissolves slowly, it is used for everyday disinfection.Nowadays, chlorination is the most popular method of water disinfection. This is primarily due to the low cost and good efficiency of chlorine-containing products. At the same time, with the correct dosage, water with such additives does not have the characteristic smell of bleach and does not cause irritation. More information about the dosage and features of the use of chlorine can be found in special sources. However, some people have individual intolerance to such supplements; for these, active oxygen may be an alternative (see relevant paragraph).
