Pencil case

— a pencil case (a case for pens and other stationery trifles), made in the form of an oblong case, round or oval in diameter. Such products are sometimes more convenient than pencil cases (see the relevant paragraph), and some backpacks and satchels use one of the bottle pockets as a "nest" for the case. And in general, such pencil cases are somewhat more compact. On the other hand, they are usually less capacious, and the clasp is usually located at the end, which can make it difficult to access objects in the depth.
