— motion sensors in light bulbs are used to automatically turn the light on or off depending on the presence of movement in the room. Most sensors have sensitivity adjustments, allowing you to set the distance from which the bulb will respond to movement. Another adjustable parameter of the sensor is the delay time. This is the period during which the sensor will keep the light on after movement has ceased. Depending on the model, the motion sensor can be integrated into the bulb or function as a separate device.

Among the key advantages are:

• energy saving — the bulb turns on only when there is movement;
• convenience — no need to manually turn the light on and off;
• safety — automatic lighting during dark hours increases safety indoors and outdoors.

However, there are also some drawbacks:

• sensor sensitivity can lead to false triggers (for example, due to animal movement);
• models with sensors will be much more expensive than regular counterparts
