Snow Chains

— chains with metal links made of steel or titanium (which is much less common), installed on the drive wheels of a car to improve traction on slippery and snowy roads. The chains are supposed to be used in heavy snow drifts and on icy surfaces, where rubber does not provide adequate cross-country ability.

Anti-skid chains with a ladder pattern provide confident movement along a straight trajectory, with a diamond-shaped pattern in the form of a honeycomb - cope well with lateral skids. Chains with different link sizes are produced (see "Cell height"), and some models can have additional equipment such as built-in ice axes.
