Plastic car mats

 

— this category actually includes two types of materials — actually plastic of one kind or another, as well as polyurethane — a more elastic and resilient material, sometimes resembling rubber.

"Regular" plastic mats are intended primarily for boots. This material is noticeably harder than rubber, less sensitive to contact with sharp corners and edges, making it better suited for such applications. Polyurethane models, in turn, are traditionally used in salons. This is in fact one of the alternatives to rubber mats (see related paragraph): polyurethane is harder and less elastic, but in general it is very similar to rubber in practical features.
