Fabric car mats
Fabric
— rugs made from fabric — usually synthetic. For a number of reasons, this material is not particularly popular in boot models, but it is extremely common among interior accessories (see "Purpose"). This is primarily due to the fact that the textile surface is able to hold and “hide” small contaminants (dust, sand, etc.). Due to this, getting onto the mat from the feet of passengers, such dirt for the most part lingers on the floor and does not come back, and the mat itself retains a neat appearance for a long time. Textiles (and only textiles) can be equipped with pile (see "Additional"), which further enhances these properties. In addition, for some drivers and passengers, the fabric is subjectively more pleasant than rubber or plastic, it provides an additional feeling of comfort in the cabin; and the variety of colours and patterns in such products is wider than in the same rubber ones (although most textile car mats are made in traditional black).
The main disadvantage of such products is the sensitivity to dirt, combined with the difficulty in cleaning: if it is enough to shake off and wipe the rubber or plastic mat, then the textile one will need to be thoroughly shaken out, ideally with knocking out, or even washing. In addition, such accessories are quite sensitive to sharp objects, and textiles are more difficult to repair than rubber or plastic.
