Profile cutters
Profile cutters
— specialized tools used in the installation of thin-walled metal profiles; sometimes also called "drywall cutters", although they are not intended for the drywall itself, but for the metal frame on which this material is installed. Such tools are used to quickly fix individual profile parts relative to each other. This happens as follows: the cutter is installed in a place where the surfaces of the parts overlap one another, and when the handles are pressed, the tool rod punches a through hole (“notch”) through both surfaces. The edges of the hole are slightly curved, which ensures fixation.Such a connection is not as strong and reliable as a classic one, using screws or other fasteners, however, when working with a profile, this moment is most often not critical. But the cutters have enough advantages: the connection is carried out very quickly, does not require any markings or additional fasteners, does not leave protrusions and does not deform the profile. In addition, if necessary, parts can be easily separated; so the cutters are very convenient for temporary connection of profiles.
