Milled face hammers
Notched striker
— the presence of a relief notch on the hammer head. Most models with this feature are roofers' and masons' hammers (see "Type"). In such tools, the grooved surface of the striker is provided in order to reduce the likelihood of slipping when hitting uneven objects — such as a roofing nail with a round head or a stone ledge. For the same purpose, a notch may be provided in some other types of hammers — in particular, carpentry. And straightening models can be equipped with two strikers at once — smooth and corrugated; this allows you to choose a striker for the characteristics of the surface to be treated.milled face | clear | Save List |
