Wooden mallets
Wood
— historically the first material used in mallets (see "Type"). Wooden strikers, even hardwoods, are noticeably softer than steel; at the same time, compared to another material popular in mallets — rubber — the tree is less elastic and almost does not rebound. On the other hand, due to the fibrous structure, the wood tends to accumulate moisture, and irregularities and chips easily appear on the surface of the striker. Therefore, nowadays, this material is gradually being replaced by rubber and other more modern options. No offers found
