Wooden mallets
Wooden mallet
— mallets are called hammers with a large rectangular or cylindrical head. Hammers are used, in particular, when leveling and straightening sheet metal and large parts, as well as for working with chisels, chisels and other similar tools. This category includes mallets, the head of which is made of wood. This is a classic material that has been used since the appearance of mallets as an instrument. It is noticeably harder than another popular material for mallets — rubber, which is why such tools are poorly suited for delicate work. But they have proven themselves in tasks where a hard, large, but at the same time not too heavy hammer is required — in particular, the same roofing work. However wood is somewhat inferior in hardness to metal, but it makes no sense to make mallets from metal: such a hammer will already be a sledgehammer.
