Sewer couplings
Couplings
— couplings are auxiliary parts (fittings) used mainly to connect two pipes that do not have sockets. Such a fitting is a tube of short length, into which the connected pipes are inserted from both sides; the inner diameter of the coupling, respectively, is equal to the outer diameter of the connected pipes. O-rings are used to seal the connection.Nowadays, you can find several varieties of couplings. One of the most popular options is sliding, having a constant inner diameter along the entire length. Such couplings can have a narrowing strictly in the middle — so that the pipes to be connected can be inserted to the same depth and securely fixed. However, there are also couplings without narrowing — they are called repair since such a product can be used as a kind of "patch" on a defective section of the pipe. There are also more specific varieties — for example, compensatory ones used to restore cut or broken sections of pipes.
