Tool dust extraction systems
— devices for removing dust and chips that occur during drilling, sawing and other similar types of work.
Such systems, in fact, are removable pipes for connecting vacuum cleaners, sometimes with additional functions; they are intended for tools in which such nozzles were not originally provided. The specific design of the dust extraction system may vary depending on the type of tool. So, for saws and grinders, casings of a characteristic type are used, put on the tool itself; models intended for drilling are attached directly to the surface to be treated at the place of work; models for installation on rotary hammers can be supplemented with auxiliary handles for convenience, etc.
As for compatibility, such accessories are made at least for a specific type of tool / work and the size of the working part (for example, for drilling with a diameter of up to 150 mm or for rotary hammers with an SDS + chuck), and sometimes for a specific brand of tools, or even for specific models .
Note that in some cases, an alternative to the dust removal system can be a simpler, lighter and more inexpensive option — a casing with a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner. See "Protective covers" for details.
