Stand plates
Stand plates
— plates of this type are not intended for serving food by themselves — they are used exclusively as coasters for dishes for first courses (soup plates or broth bowls, see the relevant paragraphs). Their purpose is, first of all, to protect the table from drops and splashes of the contents of the soup plate (situations at the table are different, and even the most careful eater is not immune from “troubles”). Ordinary dinner plates can also be used as front plates, however, specialized dishes were originally designed for such use, are better combined with plates for the first and create a more favorable impression of serving, especially when it comes to a rich feast in an expensive restaurant. No offers found
