Soup bowls
— a traditional type of dinner plates for first courses. Compared to other utensils of a similar purpose — broth bowls (see the relevant paragraph) — soup plates are wider and smaller, but the capacity of these types of utensils is approximately the same. Such plates have no special restrictions on use, they are used for all types of soups and broths.Standard diameters and sizes of soup bowls are 20 and 24 cm (for 250 and 500 mL, respectively); however, there are other options for sizes and volumes.
