Receipt printers
Receipt printers
— printers designed for printing checks, receipts and other similar documents. Usually, thermal printing technology is used: the image is applied to a special paper that darkens when heated, and the only consumable for such a printer is the thermal paper itself.Such devices differ from label printers (see the relevant paragraph) primarily in the impossibility of working with labels. In addition, receipt printers are generally simpler in design, they have a relatively low resolution and print speed, which makes them relatively inexpensive. On the other hand, most of these devices are designed for printing text information and are poorly suited for barcodes and other special data. In addition, all receipt printers require connection to an external device, standalone solutions are not found among such models (however, this is not a drawback, but rather a feature due to the format of application).
