Convectors heaters
Convector heaters
— a kind of radiator that works mainly (or even exclusively) due to convection and not thermal radiation. The basis of such a device is a heat exchanger — a set of vertical metal plates fixed at a short distance from each other on a pipe through which the heating medium circulates. The traditional way to install a convector is into a niche (see "Mounting"); devices with wall and floor placement are closer in layout and functionality to traditional radiators, but they are much less common. In general, this type of heater is designed mainly for situations in which the use of conventional radiators is inconvenient or impractical. In particular, convectors are perfectly combined with full-height windows: the airflow creates a thermal curtain that prevents heat from escaping through such a window. On the other hand, heaters of this type are inferior to radiators in terms of efficiency and uniformity of heating.
