Progressive scan home theater
— sweep — a way to build an image on a TV screen, monitor, etc. There are two types of scanning: interlaced and progressive. In the first case, only odd, then only even rows of pixels are displayed on the screen during the playback of each frame; in the second, all rows are displayed sequentially, in turn. It is believed that progressive scan provides a better, "live" image. It is worth considering that for the full use of progressive scan, it must be supported not only by the home theater, but also by the TV connected to it.
