— installation on a tow bar is a device originally intended for attaching a trailer to a vehicle.

The tow bar of a passenger car usually has the form of a specific bracket with a so-called tow ball; racks with this type of fastening are designed for such structures. Most of these models are designed to carry bicycles (see “Type”), although there are exceptions; and for normal installation it is enough that the size of the tow ball matches the size of the rack fastening. This makes products with this type of installation very versatile.
