Flaubert cartridges

— a variety of cartridges for smoothbore weapons. Such cartridges use a powderless charge, which works on the principle of detonation of the capsular liquid. Some Flaubert cartridges still use a small concentration of gunpowder (0.1%) to make the shot sound more distinct and spectacular. The most common caliber for Flaubert's charge is 5.6mm, but there are 4.0, 4.2, and 4.5mm cartridges.

Flaubert cartridges are used for sports and recreational shooting at short distances. Not applicable for hunting. Flaubert's charges are often used to complete self-defense equipment. Flaubert's cartridge cannot cause severe damage to human health, but it is quite capable of contributing to the organization of protection from hooligans and other violators of law and order. In many European Union countries, smoothbore pistols chambered in Flaubert do not fall under the category of firearms at all.
