— the interference filter glass consists of many thin layers of dissimilar materials, precisely matched in thickness and refractive index. Due to this, such a filter enhances a certain part of the spectrum and effectively reflects the rest of the light. According to the specifics of application, interference models are most often classified as protective ones — they cut off both ultraviolet and infrared radiation, leaving only the main working part of the spectrum for the camera. Interference technology can also be used to highlight individual colours, but this method of application is much less common.
