CIS scanners
CIS element
— CIS (Сontact Image Sensor, contact image sensor) is a line with photocells located on it in a row. The ruler is made in the entire width of the scanned material and moves along it under the glass during scanning; at the same time, photocells read information about the image, and LEDs located on the same line provide illumination. Scanners with CIS are small in size and weight, they are relatively inexpensive. The main disadvantage of such sensors is the shallow depth of field: when scanning an uneven surface (for example, a book spread), part of the image may be out of focus. However, in general, for everyday use at home or in the office, this quality is usually quite enough.Show
