— in terms of the time display format, flip dials are similar to digital ones, only not a part of the LCD screen is responsible for each digit, but a design like a flip calendar, with characteristic “pages” (hence the name). However in terms of capabilities, watches with such scales are closer to analogue ones: usually, they have few additional functions. The main advantage of flip models is a peculiar appearance that distinguishes them from the mass of other desktop clocks. Therefore, this option is typical mainly for expensive "designer" models, in which most of the cost is due not to functionality, but to design.
