Hip seat

— the classic hip seat is a wide harness worn around the waist, with a "shelf" where the baby rests. This makes it easier to carry the baby in an upright position with support on the parent's hip: it provides more even weight distribution and reduces unwanted stress on the spine. However, the baby usually has to be supported with at least one hand; on the other hand, this design provides the ability to take the baby out of your arms and into your arms without unnecessary movements.
