Enamel paints
— a specific type of paint and varnish material, allocated to a separate category mainly due to the fact that "enamels" form a smoother and more durable coating than most other types of paints. Enamels are made mainly on an alkyd, pentaphthalic or oil-phthalic basis (see "Binder base"); in addition, the composition includes a solvent, pigments, fillers and various auxiliary additives.
Note that enamels require caution in handling — most of them are flammable and toxic to humans.
