Oil-phthalic enamels
Oil-phthalic
— a type of base used exclusively in enamels (see "Type"). In fact, this is one of the names for an alkyd base; for its practical properties, see the relevant section. The term "oil-phthalic" is used by some manufacturers and sellers for advertising purposes. It is believed that such a name appears more "natural" and inspires more trust among customers who are skeptical of "chemistry" than specific terms. Nevertheless, all alkyd paints are produced using similar technologies, involving both natural oils and synthetic substances. The "naturalness" of the paint does not depend on what is written on the packaging — "oil-phthalic," "pentaphthalic," or "glyptal." Therefore, this option does not provide any practical advantages; it is primarily intended to reassure those who are wary of "unnatural chemistry."No offers found
