Pentaphthalic enamels
Pentaphthalic
— a type of base used exclusively in enamels (see "Type"). It is essentially a variety of alkyd base (see the corresponding section). One of the features of pentaphthalic enamels is their widespread use and popularity in both household and professional applications. This type of base allows for the creation of materials with various properties, including high weather resistance, permitting outdoor use even in challenging climatic conditions. From a chemical standpoint, the pentaphthalic base combines thick resin, solvent, glycerin, vegetable oils, and rosin. Compared to another variety of alkyd bases — glyptal — this composition is characterized by a higher curing speed during cold drying, although it requires significantly more time for complete drying.
