Back protection

— a separate element of a motorcyclist's equipment to protect the spine and lower back from injury during falls or collisions. Such equipment is usually a rigid pad on the back with shock-absorbing properties. It is often supplemented with shoulder straps and a compression belt. The back protection is worn under the jacket.
