Vertical drilling machines

— traditional design drilling machine: installed on a fixed base, and the spindle is rigidly fixed to the console and cannot move horizontally relative to the support column (that is, it moves only up and down). To fix the workpiece, a special mount is used, which can be moved so that the desired point is under the drill. Actually, the movable mount is the key difference between this variety and another type of stationary machines — radial, where the spindle is made movable (for more details, see the relevant paragraph). Vertical machines are suitable for relatively small workpieces.
