Horizontal polarization
— horizontal polarization is good because it allows you to separate the signal from the signals of other Wi-Fi and mobile devices nearby (they are vertically polarized by default). Thus, it is possible to significantly increase the reliability of communication in a busy air. However, horizontal polarization by itself is not used in consumer Wi-Fi and 3G/4G devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. Therefore, this option is provided as an auxiliary option in antennas that operate in a vertical format by default.To translate "horizontally" such an antenna must be "laid on its side" by 90 °. Such models are made directional or sector (see "Type"), and the radiation pattern of the main signal has the form of a symmetrical cone, the horizontal and vertical coverage angles are the same, and rotation does not affect coverage. (That is why "purely vertical" antennas are not recommended to be rotated — their radiation pattern is often asymmetric, and working "on the side" is not the optimal mode). In this case, for normal operation, the receiving antenna must also be polarized horizontally. As a result, this type of polarization is quite applicable for point-to-point communication, but is poorly suited for signal distribution to an indefinite number of devices.
