External power supply

— ability to operate the device from an external power supply unit (PSU).

All modern pyrometers are portable instruments; therefore, this option is usually provided as a spare, in addition to battery power (usually "Crowns" — see the relevant paragraph). On the one hand, the power supply needs an outlet, and the power cord limits mobility; on the other hand, the operating time of the device is almost unlimited, moreover, some models with this connection can even charge the built-in battery. So look for a device with a similar opportunity if you plan to often work close to outlets.
