We choose the G1 MIPS Helmet for our road rides because the ventilation and aerodynamic profile make it an efficient option for logging miles. 22 total vents keep us cool and Lazer’s Rollsys retention more→system provides a 360degree fit and comfort in a lightweight design that adjusts from the top of the helmet and away from our hair. For added peace of mind, a MIPS layer in the G1 redirects rotational forces in the event of an impact.

We take on those big objectives with the Smith Mission MIPS Helmet. Built with the MIPS impact system, this helmet redirects energy during impact to reduce rotational forces and add protection in the more→case of a crash. The EPS foam interior and polycarbonate shell exterior work together to help protect and fend off low hanging branches or hard packed snow. Adjustable ventilation allows for airflow to cool off the interior of the helmet, but can also be closed off during especially cold days when that extra warmth is wanted. If the day does get too warm, the ear pads can be removed in order to dump extra heat and allow for additional climate control.

The Pro-X3 Elbow Guard is a pad we’re confident using from local XC loops to downhill bike park days. Impressive impact foam hardens on impact, meaning it’s plenty flexible while we’re riding but extr more→a strong if we take the occasional crash. The slip-on pad is lightweight and extremely comfortable, shedding moisture quickly so that the pad doesn’t slide around while we ride.

We clip on the Capitan MIPS Helmet for our big wall pursuits. The low-profile suspension system cradles our head for all-day comfort.
