The Glow 8x8 Butterfly Scrim Kit consists of a collapsible aluminum frame that can be easily assembled and fitted with interchangeable light modifying, light absorbing or opaque screens to transform any kind of strong light source from hard to soft, and raw to controlled. The sheer size of our 8x8 Butterfly Scrim helps to master the harsh nature of a powerful light source into a wide variety of diffused illumination solutions. Even the most severe, direct light is changed into a gentle and controllable source, for still or video photographers. Light loss is about one stop. The 8x8' frame is cleverly constructed of lightweight 1 inch square anodized hollow aluminum, with hinged joints to form a perfect stable square, reinforced to hold its shape with 8 locking points. The whole frame collapses down to a transportable and storage friendly 4' x 6" x 3", in its own zippered bag. The main diffusion material is a translucent silk type material that is bungee fastened through eyelets in the fabric onto the constructed 8 x 8' aluminum frame. The kit includes a solid black light absorbing fabric which acts as a perfect background for striking product and people shots with 'pop'. And, there is a solid chroma green cloth to add to the versatility for the avid still or videographer seeking digital background substitution. A separate carry case holds all 3 fabrics in transport. The Glow 8x8 Butterfly Scrim frame is supported best by C Stands, like the Flashpoint FPLSC, using the two included C Stand Adapter Brackets. When secured with weights or sandbags outdoors, it reduces the intensity of any sunlight and filters softly on subjects being filmed or photographed.
