The origin of the legend of the Musk dates back to Indian mythology: the demon Pulaka, after having atoned for a long and severe punishment in the form of an antelope,... moreobtained from the god Shiva, as a reward, the ability to emanate a very intense perfume. From that moment on, Pulaka, thanks to its fantastic perfume, began to seduce the god's women, thus breaking moral and religious patterns and rules. As a result, Shiva ordered Pulaka to abandon his demonic body, but granted him the ability to retain the scent generated by his limbs, the Musk. This name, Musk, comes from the Sanskrit mrgamada, and means love secretion of the Antelope. It is said that Empress Josephine, Napoleon's wife and lover of perfumes, especially Musk, used it with great generosity to seduce her husband and to secure his devotion, despite Napoleon's frequent protests.
